HOW TO COOK TUNA CASSEROLE



The word Casserole is a french word for Saucepan. It is also reffered to the food that is cooked and served in a saucepan. There are many ways how to cook casserole. Many methods are not originally from France and most of the people who know how to cook it learned new methods in their own way. I am one of those people. I tried to learn how to cook it when I was in college but I lost my interest after several failures because I was trying to make myself new version of casserole. Not until I came up with the idea of using a macaroni and carrots. I went to the supermarket to buy the ingredients and finally, I made my method how to cook casserole. And I made not only one version of it but three. Here is my first method how to cook it, my tuna casserole:



Recipe: Tuna Casserole

INGREDIENTS:

50g macaroni
1 medium size onion (minced)
200g cooked tuna (diced)
2 eggs (whisked)
2 cups mozzarella cheese (shredded
1 cup carrots (thinly sliced)
12 oz. canned tuna
500ml condensed milk
1 cup canned young corn (sliced)
½ cup all purpose flour
Oil



PROCEDURE:

  1. Cook macaroni in a pot of water for 10 minutes or until drained.
  2. Preheat the oven to 420 degrees F.
  3. Mix macaroni, onion, 1 cup cheese, flour, carrots, tuna, milk and young corn.
  4. Drizzle a baking pan with oil.
  5. Pour the mixture into the baking pan and scatter with the rest of the cheese.
  6. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes.
  7. And serve.

French toast is a dish served as fried egg-coated bread. What I like from this dish is you can cook it anyway you want. But there is one thing you should consider on cooking this dish, you have to coat your bread with egg, that is how to cook French Toast. But many ways came up on how to cook it like adding sugar before frying the bread, scattering sesame seeds after frying. There is one chef I know in Manila that I really like the way how he cooked French Toast. I asked him what was his secret and he told me that it was the sesame seeds. So I came up thinking about how to cook my own version of French toast. This is what I am gonna share with you. How to cook it? Here it is:



INGREDIENTS:

5 loaves of American tasty bread
½ cup of milk
¼ cup olive oil
2 eggs
½ teaspoon groud nutmeg
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
1 tablespoon maple syrup




PROCEDURE:

  1. Whisk the egg together with milk, nutmeg, sesame seeds, and maple syrup.
  2. Pour olive oil into the skillet and heat over medium-high heat.
  3. Soak up each loaf of bread in egg mixture by batch.
  4. Put in the skillet and cook each side until golden brown.
  5. And serve with hot coffee or tea.

HOW TO COOK FRENCH ONION SOUP


I had a french friend. We met in the university back in 2004. One day he invited me to come to his flat. It was Friday evening so obviously it was like a dinner meeting. I liked the foods but there is one food that really caught my attention, the French Onion Soup. I really liked it so I asked him how to cook this one and he gave me the recipe. The next day I told my mom about this French Onion Soup and I asked her for the ingredients. I tried myself to cook this soup and believe me its not as hard as you think to cook this delicious french onion soup. Here is the exact recipe my friend gave me.



INGREDIENTS:

¼ cup margarine
3 medium size sweet onions (sliced)
1 regular size cheddar cheese
1  french bread
2 pieces small beef broth cubes (about 10g each)
3 cups of water
5 gloves of garlic (minced)
¼ cup all purpose flour
1 tablespoon brown sugar




COOKING PROCEDURE:

  1. In a sauce pan, heat the margarine until melted.
  2. Add the sugar and stir.
  3. Cook the garlic and onions until golden brown.
  4. Add the flour, stir until perfectly blended with the onions and sugar.
  5. Add the water and broth to the pan, stir well, adjust the heat to boil, let it boiling for about 8 minutes.
  6. Slice 4 pieces of bread, about 1 inch thick and toast them until golden brown.
  7. Put the soup into a bowl and put the toasted onto the top of the soup.
  8. Scatter the cheese onto the soup.
  9. Bake in 220 degrees C for 10 minutes to melt the cheese.
  10. And voila! Serve.
