How to Cook Beef Caldereta (Kalderetang Baka) –Many meats
can be used in cooking Caldereta like pork, goat’s meat, chicken, etc. Cooking
this dish is not as tricky as what others think but you should pick the best
meat you like to use. To me, I like beef even better so when I cook Caldereta,
I try to make sure that beef is available in the kitchen but it is alright to
use other meat though. Not all of us would want to spend more than buying
chicken so I recommend it to those who are in a cost-cutting situation. But if
you feel like beef is okay then here is how to cook Beef Caldereta (Kalderetang
Baka):
INGREDIENTS
1 kg beef spare rib, cut into serving pieces
3 pcs carrot, cut into cubes
3 pcs red bell pepper, cut into cubes
1 medium size onion, sliced
3 pcs potato, cut into cubes
6 cloves of garlic, minced
2 cups of instant tomato sauce
3 pcs green bell pepper, cut into cubes
¼ cup cheddar cheese
½ cup liver spread
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup water
PROCEDURE
- Saute bell peppers together with carrots and potatoes for 5 minutes.
- In another pan, saute garlic and onion until light brown.
- Add the beef ribs and stir until the beef is light brown.
- Add all the ingredients, stir well and simmer until the meat is tender.
- Remove from heat and serve.
