HOW TO COOK GAISBURGER MARSCH

How To Cook Gaisburger Marsch –this dish very common to us, it is just the name we are not familiar with because Gaisburger Marsch is just a counterpart of what we call beef and vegetable stew. Although this is very German, you can make your own version of it by replacing some of the ingredients used in this recipe. Unlike other beef stews we make, cooking this dish requires beer. I know that some wine gives better taste to stews but I didn’t know that beer could also be added to stews, I was amazed when I learned about this thing. Actually the beer is used to combine with broth used for simmering and that’s is what we are going to do. I have shared with you the recipe on how to make spatzle, I am mentioning it because this stew is not complete without it. Here is how to cook Gaisburger Marsch:

Ingredients
1 pound beef (cut into cubes)
1 cup beer
4 cups beef broth (or enough amount to cover beef for simmering)
1 medium size onion (diced)
1 stalk celery
2 medium size carrots (diced)
1 pound uncooked potatoes (peeled and diced)
1 small bowl spatzle (cooked)
1 tablespoon nutmeg
Salt to taste
1 onion, (cut into rings)
Butter
1 tablespoon parlsey (chopped)

Cooking Procedure
  1. In a pot, put the beef , beer, salt, diced onion, celery, carrots and broth.
  2. Bring to a boil and simmer until the beef is cooked and tender.
  3. When the beef is almost cooked, drop the potatoes.
  4. In a skillet, melt butter and fry onion rings until translucent.
  5. Pour the stew in individual serving bowls and garnish with onion rings and parsley.
  6. And serve.

HOW TO COOK FLADLESUPPE

How To Cook Flädlesuppe –here is another Aryan dish that you would like and the good news here is that you can use your leftover pancakes, yes. It is not tricky at all. This dish is a soup so you wouldn’t worry about the sauce or gravy or anything that you may want to get rid of everytime you make dishes. Flädlesuppe is actually composed of pancakes and broth. You can use your favorite vegetable broth on this one. It is up to you, who knows, your broth is way better than mine. But please, take note that do not make this one way earlier than you are going to serve it because the broth will get cold and the pancakes will fall apart by soaking up the broth. You can prepare the ingredients earlier though. Here is how to cook Flädlesuppe:

Ingredients
8 cups of  vegetable broth
6 small size pancakes (cut into strips)
1 medium size carrots (cut into sticks)
1 green onion (cut into sticks)
1 celery (cut into strips/sticks)
½ cup chayote (cut into sticks)
1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped)
1 tablespoon celery leaves (chopped)
Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking Procedure
  1. In a pot, combine all the vegetables, pour in broth and boil until the vegetables are cooked.
  2. Add salt and pepper according to your taste, check the taste if not too salty to you.
  3. Put the pancakes in individual serving bowls.
  4. Pour broth over pancakes and add some cooked vegetables.
  5. Garnish with parsley and celery leaves and serve.
