HOW TO COOK CHILI CRAB



Chili crab is a Singaporean dish that became popular not only in Singapore but even in the United States, Canada, and Australia. If you want to eat this dish without going to the restaurant, you should know how to cook it. There are many variations of this dish these days. If you are going to look up a recipe in the internet, you should know how to pick the best version of this dish that you think can suit your taste. This dish requires knowledge in how to clean the crabs but if you can’t do that, you can buy the ready to cook crabs that you don’t have to clean it. This is how to cook easy Chili Crab:



INGREDIENTS:

1 Dungeness crab
½ cup banana ketchup
1 tablespoon of sugar
1 cup water
2 tablespoon calamansi extract
Salt
2 tablespoon vegetable oil
Hot chili sauce
1 clove of garlic (minced)
1 small size onion (minced)



COOKING PROCEDURE:

  1. Remove and separate the claws from the body of the crab.
  2. Remove the upper shell and cut the body into four pieces.
  3. Heat up the skillet, put vegetable oil.
  4. Stir fry the garlic until light brown, add the onion until transparent.
  5. Add the chili sauce, sugar, banana ketchup, calamansi extract and stir until thick.
  6. Add the water and the crab, stir, and cook for about 15 minutes or until the shell turned red.
  7. And serve.
